Today, I was told I graduated. Really, it was my last follow-up appointment for my ACL repair surgery. It’s hard to believe it’s been six months, and yet not that hard to believe. I’ve definitely come a long way in my recovery and thinking about that brings to mind the many other things I’ve learned…
Happy Thanksgiving! Hands down this is my favorite holiday for many reasons. I’m grateful for so many blessings. While I have a moment before cooking the afternoon away, I thought I’d update you on things going on with the Riot MC and my writing. Foolish Riot, the story of Trixie and Roll, came out at…
If you follow me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or get my newsletter…then you’re probably thinking, “Yes, you have a new book out. Enough already!” However, perhaps you don’t know that Trixie and Roll’s story has been a long time coming. A very long time. In fact, I started writing their story after I finished Inciting…
If you’re part of my reader group…then you already know I tore my ACL. I’d love to say a burly, hot defensive football player tackled me, but in typical not-glamorous “Karen” fashion, I tripped over my own two feet at home. I can sit comfortably, so you’d think I could still write, but this ordeal…
Hard might well be the worst word in the English language. Especially considering it’s a four letter word, which are some of my favorite words even though they often get a bad rap. I feel confident in sharing that I’m not the only one who feels this way about ‘hard,’ because look at science. Diamonds…
I’ve come to the realization that there’s a difference between ambition and over-doing it. With the best of intentions, I planned to write a novella for Jackie and Volt this November during NaNoWriMo. However, I’m within 24,000 words of completing the first draft of Beta Test. Attempting two works-in-progress simultaneously isn’t just a headache. It’s…
It’s the last week of summer vacation this week at Chez Renee! It’s hard to believe, how the time has gone by so quickly even though it didn’t seem that way at the time. This means we’ll be trying to cram in as much stuff as we can in a mere seven days. Everything from…
Hello! I’m deep in edit mode for Inciting a Riot since I just got the manuscript back from my editor yesterday afternoon, but I had this notion/anecdote to share…so I’m going to crank out a quick blog post and get back to readying Inciting a Riot for publishing in August. I don’t know a lot…
I made someone cry! I don’t remember ever making a complete stranger cry. However, a reader who finished Unforeseen Riot tells the world of Amazon that indeed I did. This made me gasp in surprise and with excitement. Not that I intend to make readers cry. I’m honestly just impressed that my words could speak…
The fabulous website smashwords.com offers independent authors the opportunity to participate in an online interview so readers can get to know authors better. One of the questions in my interview was “What is the greatest joy of writing for you?” I mentioned that I was working on a blog post about the writer’s high. To…
Hi! Thank you for visiting my website. Currently, my first novel Unforseen Riot, the first in the Riot MC series, is being edited. The expected launch date is April 30, 2018. To say I am excited, is a vast understatement. I’ve aspired to be a writer since I was eight or nine years old, but my…
